Krasnotur goalkeeper disarmed Czechs in the first match of the world championship in Irkutsk
Early morning. Sunday. The first day of spring. Hibernation, of course, is for bears, not for people, but where to get the motivation to Wake up on March 1 at the crack of dawn and come to the stadium, located in the suburbs of Irkutsk, by 8.30?!
This area is called «second Irkutsk». But on the first day of spring, it was not the second, but the first: it was the whistle of the Russian referee Roman Yarovenko that announced the beginning of the XL world bandy championship in Irkutsk.
Interestingly, in the calendar of world Cup games, the match between the Czech Republic and Ukraine is still listed as the second number, although it started first: we think, without conspiracy and verbal communication with the second (!) Irkutsk was not enough... Perhaps that is why the first goal of the world Cup was scored at Trud, and not at Zenit – in a game that actually started 15 minutes later.

At the opening ceremony, warm greetings to the participants of the championship and the audience, who gathered in the stands surprisingly many-250 people (we remind you: early morning, Sunday!)- said the acting Minister of sports of the Irkutsk region Ilya Reznik and the head of the Directorate for the world Cup Vladimir Matienko.
Bread-and-salt teams - and the time to nibble is not bread, but ice. The Czechs started briskly, attacked, but for some reason they quickly fell off and completely gave the initiative to their opponents. Czech national team player Tomas Benak at the post-match press conference could not explain what this unexpected decline was due to. The head coach of the Czech national team – Swede Michael Brett-managed to arrive only for the second half, so he also could not comment on this situation.
The Ukrainian national team embodied its advantage in scoring a goal three minutes before the end of the first half: Dmitry Tsymbal scored. And in the second half, the Czech Republic pinned the nominal guests to the goal and had a lot of great opportunities to equalize the score. Just an amazing save was made by the goalkeeper of the Ukrainian team Andrey Tsyplakov (by the way, who plays in the top League of the Russian championship for krasnoturyinsky Mayak), in a jump, in a football way, pulling the ball out of the left «nine». By the way, he was recognized as the best player of the match – and rightly so.
Time was running out, but it seemed that the Czech team was very close to a draw: all the time, the Czech strikers did not have enough to distinguish themselves. But the Ukrainians, as in the first half, made a bid for a shock finish. In the 56th and 57th minutes, twice they went one - on – one with the goalkeeper - it's a pity that the skill was not enough. But the corner on the 58th minute was played exemplary: it is not often in the matches of the teams of group B you will see the «Swedish» option, which leaves no options for the goalkeeper of the defending team!
Taken by Brother Michael at the last minute a time-out to the Czechs, as expected, has not helped... Ukraine looked much better than at the Irkutsk world Cup in 2014, and it seems that it is quite capable of competing for medals at the world championship. By the way, the national team of this country was amicably supported by the Irkutsk tribunes. This shows that, despite all the difficulties, the relations between the representatives of the two countries continue to be the most friendly and friendly.
Michael Brett, head coach of the Czech national team: - At the last world Cup in Irkutsk (in 2014) , I headed the team of the Netherlands, since 2016 I have been the head coach of the Czech national team. I must say that after the current championship, I will probably leave my post. I think it is wrong to coach a team, especially a national team, for more than four years. The coach gets used to the players and can't be as demanding and strict as before...
As for this game, we tried to make adjustments in the second half, but we lacked quite a bit. We have another match today, and I hope that we will look better in it...
Andrey Tsyplakov, the goalkeeper of the national team of Ukraine:
– I was very worried about how I would look during the match. the Fact is that for some reason I didn't have a normal adaptation to time zones, and I didn't sleep almost all night before the game. It turned out that the stress even helped in some way. How did I make such a save when I pulled the ball out of the «nine»? I don't understand... I tried very hard – and it worked!
Magnus Palm, head coach of the Ukrainian national team:
– I believe that Andrey Tsyplakov can be safely put as the main goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national football team – he will not disappoint. But seriously, it was his great game that helped us win today. Such a necessary one: after all, it is necessary to start such an important competition as the world Cup with a victory.
